I've worked at some of Australasia's top ad agencies including Ogilvy NZ, DraftFCB and Clemenger BBDO Sydney. And I've won awards from around the world, mainly for effectiveness in online media. The highlight was heading to New York to pick up a Gold and a Silver Caples Award for our viral 'The Gingerbread Haka'. It got 5 million hits globally and is still a popular YouTube video four years later.
When it comes down to it, I've worked on everything – brand advertising, direct marketing, interactive and retail advertising. And now I'm doing it on my own. Since I began freelancing I've worked for clients as big as Telecom and Westpac, and as small as locally-run businesses like Babu baby wear. I ran a marketing agency with a partner in 2010/2011, called Soda Communications, adding creative direction, strategy, planning and new business acquisition to my skill set. But across everything I do, there's one consistency. It's my attitude. 'Cause all I wanna do is have some fun (and sometimes fun takes hard work).
2012 is already shaping up to be an exciting year. I'm now working closely with collaborative creative agency "Indiego", and we've just launched a specialist writing service called Big On Writing. Official site is here, or read my post on it here.
